Mexico Excursion
this was one of our very favorite days of our trip! our taxi driver, jesus, drove us to the pyramids, a little museum, and his friend’s family’s home and tobacco farm. we met the friend’s parents and they were so adorable and didn’t speak a lick of english. they reminded me of my grandma and grandpa abilez :) it was so cool to see where they lived. it was a very humble home, with something cooking over a fire inside, even though it felt like an oven outside! they welcomed us into their home and his dad even rolled us a tobacco pipe to take home haha! we gave it to jesus at the end of the day :) he took us to spots that not a lot of people visit or get to see. it seemed like he knew people everywhere we went, but maybe he and everyone else is just very friendly :) our last stop was at a secluded beach where we talked with his friend who had this awesome parrot! when we got back to town, the sun had gone down and we were all hungry. so, before bringing us back home, jesus brought us to another friend’s tamale shop and ordered for us. it was the perfect way to end the day!
