Eleanor is one!
I cannot believe I’m writing this post right now! How in the world is Eleanor one?! this year truly flew by. for rockwell’s first year, it felt like the longest and hardest year ever haha. going from one to two kids was hard but not as hard as zero to one. this time, i had a better idea of what i was doing and what to expect, so that made it much easier. i also have a better community around me now which has made a world of a difference. i’m so grateful for these friends and fellow mamas who have become my close and dear friends. i feel so lucky to be around women who also love being moms, even though it’s hard. it just helps so much to be around that energy.
i threw a sunshine themed party for eleanor’s birthday because she is truly the embodiment of sunshine. she is always happy and smiling and brings sunshine to everyone she meets. she’s such a blessing! i have also sang “you are my sunshine” to her everyday of her life as i put her down for a nap :) it was even more perfect that it was a beautiful sunny day! we also loved having my mom and brianna in town for the big day!
we had a yogurt bar since the party was earlier in the day. it was so delicious! riley made the banana cake and frosted it with an ombre effect. that was also so yummy! although eleanor wasn’t super interested in it haha! i kept the decor simple by getting sunflowers and daisies from trader joes, a bunch of balloons, and chiffon ribbon draped over the chandelier. and of course the photos i took of eleanor each month throughout the year :) i loved how simple it was, but it was still so pretty. i didn’t want to take it all down, but christmas decorations couldn’t wait ;) i hand painted the invite, so i guess i’ll keep that tradition up for her birthdays too :P everyone left with a packet of sunflower seeds that they can plant in the springtime!
