the making of portfolio

hello again, friends! i’m back! which means portfolio is over! i still can’t believe it. i have so much time to do anything i want now! it is definitely a little weird, since this has been my main focus for the last seven months! it has been such a long road and the whole time i honestly couldn’t see a light at the end of the tunnel. i thought there was no way i could do it and i never thought it would ever end! during my first two years at school, i would look at the graduating student’s portfolios and think “there is no way in heck that i can ever do that.” well, i still had those thoughts through out this year but you just kinda do it. and it all comes together somehow! here’s a few not-so-pretty pictures of the process!

^^^drawing these lines perfectly was so ridiculously hard. never painting stripes again. no thank you. but riley was a huge help with them!

^^^koda kept me company every step of the way. here, he lied down right where i needed to paint. how helpful! okay koda, i’ll paint the other one first.

^^^riley came up with a genius way to mount and wire my sconces onto the display. he was so excited to do it and he did a great job! i was super nervous when he started drilling those holes. no going back now!  riley’s mom even helped out when she was in town last weekend :)

^^^and they worked!!

^^^some days, i would have my stuff all spread out in the living room, barely leaving room to walk. and koda was so good at walking around everything :) here, he just plopped down in the middle of the mess. he’s so stinking precious.

i probably should have warned riley before we got married that this was really what he was getting himself into. but he was so supportive and encouraging every step of the way. he helped me whenever i asked and even when i didn’t ask. but most of all, he put up with all of my stress and breakdowns and deadlines. i know that he is more excited than i am for this all to be over! haha! i feel like i owe it all to him and my good friend jenn who was a sort of mentor to me through this and helped me make my display 100x better than it was going to be. i am so grateful for so many supportive friends and family through this whole process! next up is the final result :)
