Although there’s no trick-or-treating or trunk-or-treat parties this year, there was no way we weren’t going to dress up for halloween! plus, we invited our friend group over for a little party :) i had the idea to do an astronaut, alien, and rocket ship which was perfect for rockwell since his nickname is rocket! i found the cutest rocket ship costume from pottery barn kids but it was way more than i was willing to spend. so i thought, how hard could it be to make that? turns out, it wasn’t like making masks haha! the fabric was tricky and doing things like attaching the cone hat and making a face hole was way advanced for me. but i called and facetimed a couple ladies who were willing to give me pointers and i mostly figured it out! it seemed to have shrunk from the pattern to the final result, but luckily i was still able to squeeze it onto rockwell :D i was pretty proud of the result and i hope it’s something that can be passed down to all of our babies or friend’s babies!

my costume was actually meant to be a robot but i thought it looked alien-ish so i made it work! on the first day, i tried to spray my skin green but it was kind of a disaster. so the next day, i tried a cool makeup look instead. i also loved trying two different hairstyles. sorry to riley for having a boring costume but i’m pretty sure he doesn’t mind. i ordered a better looking astronaut costume for him but it didn’t arrive in time, so this one was the back up. it all still worked out great :)
we grew two of our pumpkins in the garden this year! it was so exciting to watch them grow and then to finally pick them, bring them inside, then carve them! this is something we’re going to do every year now :)
it’s been about a week since kitty passed away and we’re still heartbroken. so, i paid homage to her in this year’s pumpkin and named it “kitty in the sky with diamonds”. complete with her bushy tail :)
oh my goodness…with or without the costume, his little face is to die for!!
