lake huron walks
since nothing outstanding has been happening around here, i will post some pictures from our honeymoon in michigan :) we stayed at riley’s grandparent’s cottage right on lake huron! it was pretty much totally secluded and the beach was 10 steps away! if you’ve ever been to the great lakes (which i hadn’t been), you know that they are huge and there really are beaches. we loved spending time there everyday and taking long walks. we made sand castles, carved our names in the sand, and skipped rocks. one day we decided to swim/walk really far out to see how far we could go. the ground ended up being covered in rocks that crushed our feet and the water was so cold. but we refused to turn around. it was hilarious.
^^^there were a lot of flies there, so i decided it was a good idea to spray bug spray all over us before one of our walks. well, turns out bug spray attracts bugs more than it repels it. what the heck. all of the black dots in this picture are flies. also hilarious. 100% deet for now on or nothin’.
we had jumping off of these sand dunes. mostly riley because i’m a baby when it comes to that stuff ever since i tore my acl. anyway, riley used to jump off these dunes when he came here with his family as a kid. i loved hearing all of his childhood stories about this place. and i especially loved looking through all of the pictures his grandma left for us to look at!

my gosh it was so pretty there. as gorgeous as the sunset was every night, i would get a little sad each night because i didn’t want any more days to pass! i loved it all so much! i really hope we can go back again soon! i’m so thankful to riley’s grandparents for letting us crash their cottage. it was so special!
well, that got way deeper and more emotional than i planned on. ha!
