surprise! i’m home!! i surprsingly wasn’t scheduled for a few days at work so i booked some tickets to come home! it’s been over a year since i’ve been here! how sad is that?! i got to surprise my mom as a late birthday present and the first thing we did was go to downtown ventura. ventura is such a charming town! as are most places in this beautiful land of california.
one of the things i missed the most is the humidity! i could feel it as soon as i got off the plane and it put a big smile on my face. then, driving up the coast and seeing the bright green hills and mustard plants starting to grow, wow. this place beats any place in the world, in my opinion.
main street shopping leads right to the buenaventura mission. something i love and appreciate so much about california is the spanish culture and architecture everywhere!

then we went to our favorite beach side grill. if you’re ever in the area, you have to go. it has the best atmosphere, being right on the beach. there is only seating outside on picnic tables. it’s so fun, even if the food isn’t as good as the canteen in cape cod :)
then we ended the day with a little antiquing. it was hard not to want to buy everything! it was a perfect first day back home!
